Necuno Solutions and Nemo Mobile collaboration

Necuno Solutions and Nemo Mobile announce community collaboration, bringing Nemo Mobile on Necuno Mobile.

Nemo Mobile is the FOSS operating system based on Mer-core. Mer-core was started as a fork from Nokia MeeGo operating system and is now utilized by SailfishOS mobile operating system and AsteroidOS, the open-source operating system for smartwatches. Nemo Mobile uses the same proven and stable core and provides a unique swipe-based UX on top of it, backed by an open-source community. Although early in development Nemo Mobile is a promising and upcoming FOSS effort to bring freedom back in mobile.

Necuno Solutions is introducing a truly open source and secure mobile hardware platform called Necuno Mobile. Open source mobile communities have been looking forward to a device like this for a long time, because a device so uniquely open has never been made before. Necuno Mobile works perfectly as a base to build truly open and bleeding edge FOSS projects on. It is the first step in a long journey of bringing users back in control of their mobile devices.

Nemo Mobile was originally made from the MeeGo Community edition and has since been made as a distribution for mobile devices in general. Glacier UI is the current UI project which aims on bringing a completely community driven user interface development effort to the hands of its users.

Necunos provides the most transparent and secure complete mobile solution.

We started with creating a secure communications software but realized that it wont be secure if its running on Android or iOS where data collection and backdoor access is inevitable. We decided to create our own Linux-based up-to-date independent operating system that would respect peoples privacy and provide them with transparent security. Once we got deep into the hardware and operating systems we noticed we couldn't trust the hardware running our operating system. There are too many unknowns and too many closed firmwares running in there. We decided to go and create the most transparent and clean mobile hardware and software stack solution where the user can be absolutely sure that his communications are secured and privacy respected.
